The Perfusion Index and Plethysmograph Waveform will helps you determine the accuracy of your reading. Moving too fast will affect the accuracy; try to stay still while waiting for your reading. Avoid nail polish or long nails on the finger used for the reading. Fingers should also be dry. Ring finger, middle finger and index finger are recommended as suitable monitor digits. When the oxygen saturation and the heart are at the same level, the measurement results are optimal.

Q: What is a Pulse Oximeter?

A: A pulse oximeter is a non-invasive device that indirectly monitors, and displays, both blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate (heart rate). Pulse oximeters provide an easy way of assessing your blood oxygen level and pulse rate.


Q: What is SpO2?

A: SpO2 is also known as oxygen saturation. It is a measure of how much oxygen the blood is carrying as a percentage of the maximum it could carry.


Q: What is the normal range of SpO2?

A: The normal range for SpO2 is typically considered to be from 95% - 100%. The measurement may be lower for people who live in high altitudes. If the number drops to 90% or lower, that's a cause for concern. That's generally the level where a doctor might put you on supplementary oxygen and keep you in the hospital for observation.


Q: What is the normal range for pulse rate?

A: The normal resting range for pulse rate is typically considered from 60 ~ 100 beats per minute (BPM). As your healthcare professional this question as it pertains to you.


Q: What is the Perfusion Index (PI%) a measurement of?

A: The Perfusion Index is the ratio of pulsatile blood flow to the non-pulsatile, or static, blood within peripheral tissue, such as at a fingertip, toe, or ear lobe. As such, it is a relative assessment of the pulse strength at the monitoring site. A higher index indicates widening arteries and stronger blood flow, while a lower index indicates narrowing arteries and weaker blood flow. Change in the index, over time, should be monitored, as there is no "normal" reading to apply for any and every user. Each individual is different and needs to establish their own baseline.


Q: What kind of conditions may cause an inaccurate reading?

A: Cold hands, poor circulation, very weak pulse, movement, fingernail polish, and acrylic nails may cause inaccurate readings and results.


Q: The SpO2 reading is not changing on the display - it's stuck...

A: SpO2 levels do not change like a pulse rate. It is very slow to change.


Q: I do not see the battery indicator symbol on the display...

A: The battery indicator symbol only appears when the batteries are weak or low.


Q: I have installed new batteries but the device still does not turn on. What could be the problem?

A: The battery placement for oximeters is different from others. Even though the two springs are on the same side, the two batteries are still required to be installed in opposite directions. The diagram shows the correct battery placement. One product image shows the batteries' installation.  If your device still does not work, please contact the manufacturer to receive a free replacement.


Q: Does it measure the heart rate?

A: Yes, this device would measure heart rate along with blood oxygen levels.


Q: Are the devices FDA or CE Conformity Assessed?

A: Yes, all of our devices are strictly made compelling to the rules of CE and FDA.
FDA requires pulse oximeters to have SpO2 accuracy of ±2%, the pulse oximeter deviates less than 1% under lab conditions.


Q: Does this product ever need recalibration?
