Nebulizer inhalation with bronchitis provides direct delivery of the drug in the bronchi. The high concentration of drugs and the possibility of uniform distribution of the fine air mixture in the bronchi allow quickly alleviate the patient’s health. In case of bronchitis, the following drugs can be used for inhalation therapy with a nebulizer: bronchodilator drugs, medicines to facilitate the discharge of sputum, antibacterial agents, antiseptics.

The most common inhalation regimen is twice a day. Certain medicines are used three times a day. If you need to use saline or mineral water, the frequency can be increased up to 4 times. The course of inhalation is prescribed by a doctor depending on the medication used and is limited to 5-15 days.

For example, inhalation of ambroxol is limited to 5 days, and the procedure with mineral compounds is continued until the symptoms of the disease disappear.

It is essential to clean and disinfect nebulizer handsets and other respiratory equipment that has been in contact with mucous membranes and sputum to prevent lung infections. Bacterial contamination can be reduced by regular cleaning and following the manufacturer’s instructions on when to replace the nebulizer.

Nebulizer handsets are labeled as single patient (one person) use only. To reduce the risk of spreading infection, please do not share nebulizer handsets with others.

Children up to 3 years of age cannot use a mouthpiece, so treatment with a spacer should be given with a face mask. Leaks around the face mask can result in decrease medication being inhaled. To prevent leaks, you may need to hold the face mask on your child's face tightly. This causes the child to cry and fuss during the treatment. Crying causes more of their medication to be inhaled into the stomach and less in the lungs where it is needed.
